The pineapple plant fruits in its second year. The child also in his second year decided to "tend" it. So, that's that, and a valuable lesson about patience learned.

Photo1: We've successfully matriculated the first one into school! :) Behind the camera Mommy is getting her tears ready.
Photo 2: He's not quite sure how to feel about it yet.
Photo 3: there is no photo 3, it was crying. All good.
One other last summer thing before school: Oskar decided to make an island in a"tidal pool". Decorated with shells, the tide going in and out...sound familiar to a Grandma here? :)
Oskar's preschool buddy Emmy had a luau themed birthday party - hula skirts were scored which made both the guys overjoyed!
P.S. Observant folks will notice Oskar's "EXIT" sign on the door behind him, he's all about safety systems right now :))) Yes Judith, he remembers the fire alarms at our old home well.
A few last fun moments as a family before school starts tomorrow. Here we are at Tilden Park Steam Trains.
Oskar took care of his brother at his school ice cream social this afternoon. This is just one scene. They played together in the playground, pointed out fire alarms to each other, and even held hands together when feeling a bit of trepidation.
I'm not in the slightest bit ready for either of them to go to school but Oskar will be fronting up 8:25am on Monday morning 😢
While "Brother" is away in Australia, Finlay's enjoying some great weather (finally) by driving the Plasma Car repeatedly through the bubble-powered "carwash" :)
Just for the weekend. Though it might be nice to have one whenever.
Anyway Russian River redwoods territory here were are!
A momentous occasion! Thing 2 just peeled his first boiled eggs. An important life skill, we can all agree Xx
What comes after a visit to IKEA? Building IKEA furniture of course, which allows us time to imagine and build our dreams. Specifically, a slide right at home 🙃
